Introduction

The E3 is a lab, belongs to Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications -VNU University of Engineering and Technology, lead by Assoc. Prof. Anh Tuan Mai and Dr. Linh Mai. This is a multidisciplinary research group with focus, but not limit, to:

• Analog and Mixed-Signal IC Design: power ICs (LDO, Buck, Buck-Boost, PMIC, etc.) and analog-to-digital/digital-to-analog converters (AD/DACs). These designs are implemented on PDKs with appropriate processes, suitable for applications in wearables, IoT devices for healthcare, environmental monitoring, agriculture, and electric vehicles.

Circuits for radio frequency (RF) transceiver systems, including LNAs (low-noise amplifiers), PAs (power amplifiers), Mixers, VCOs (voltage-controlled oscillators), and PLLs (phase-locked loops) are also priority ones.

• Smart Antenna Design including milimeter antennas, reflectarray/transmitarray, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), used for 5G/6G wireless communication;

• Embedded Systems and Edge AI Development:  with the rapid growth of electronic components, particularly heterogeneous integration (chiplet technology), the application potential of embedded systems has become nearly limitless. Most leading manufacturers have integrated graphics accelerators and AI cores into their MUCs. This enables the deployment of edge computing models, which are highly suitable for applications in healthcare, autonomous vehicles, and UAVs.

• Advanced Electronic Materials Development Mastery of the component manufacturing industry begins with source materials. Research and development of advanced materials can lead to breakthroughs in fabricating power electronics, energy components, memory, and storage devices.

We welcome talents from universities, with high motivation in science and engineering, to join research activites.  E3 can also be host for oversea students who want an internship in Vietnam.
